2009 Scenic Rim Regional Awards Gala Dinner
A big Congratulations goes out to all the winners of the 2009 Scenic Rim Regional Annual Tourism Awards held at the Bearded Dragon on the 27th of Augaust 2009.
During this Gala evening awards were won by the following businesses for various categories these included:
The Deluxe Accommodation award taken out by:
Barney Creek Vineyard Cottages.
The finalist included Worendo and Barney Creek Vineyard Cottages.
Heritage and Cultural Tourism award was taken out by Cedar Glen Farmstay.
The nights highlight for me was seeing Lisson Grove and “The Castle” being awarded the Highly Commended for their first class accommodation establishment. The Castle sets a new standard in Tamborine Mountain luxury accommodation.
The tourism restaurants and catering award was taken out by the Bearded Dragaon ran by Monique Mills, Monique stated that the award was unexpected and over whelming. The award went to worthy winner. The Bearded Dragon also very proudly took out the award for very affordable accommodation setting a new standard for affordable accommodation on Tamborine Mountain.
The visitor information centre award was won by Beaudesert Arts and Information centre closely competing with highly commended Discover Tamborine Mountain VIC the official Tamborine Mountain Visitor Information Centre.
Hosted Accommodation was taken out by boutique accommodation provider Witches Falls coming up against stiff competition Villa Della Rosa, Cedar Glen Farmstay and Wallaby Ridge Retreat.
The Nature Tourism winner was Auracaria Eco Tours with the tour and transport operator award winner being Southern Cross 4WD Tours.
A great night was had by all with fabulous food and entertainment, the fire dancers and fire eaters that lit up the festivities, no doubt many award winners will be nursing some serious festive hangovers during the Gold Coast Show public holiday.
