The InfoLink IT journalism team had a total blast catching Barramundi, Threadfin Salmon, Mangrove Jack, Tuna, Queenfish you name it we caught it. We had four of the best fishing days anybody could ever experience.
This was our 6th fishing adventure in Darwin, the 3rd one at Clearwater Island Lodge and to be honest it just keeps getting better and better each time. Michael and Dave are the best fishing guides anybody could hope to have. No matter what fishing level skill you may or may not have these guys will get you hooked on within minutes of your fishing adventure starting.
When I asked Michael why the Barramundi Fishing was so good he simply replied “protection” we protect our fish stocks with the catch and release program, the local fish stocks are guaranteed now and for future generations to enjoy. The estaury fishing in Darwin is the best in Australia because of all the protected inlets around the island waterways. What was so amazing was in less than half an hour from the Clearwater Island Lodge base you can be deepsea fishing for so many different fish species it’s truly and anglers playground a true dream location.
Further to our great fishing adventure we also got treated to a cultural tour which saw us digging for mud muscles, netting huge crabs and cooking these on hot coals beachside. We learned so much about the aboriginal people on Melville Island and the culture and then everyninght we got treated to a culinary treat that just blews our taste buds apart. Fresh honey barramundi, chilli crab, jewfish stir fry, fresh prawns, oysters, chicken dishes, curry beef, awsome desserts and lots of cold beer and Jack Daniels.
